Last week on BreakPoint I praised the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court whose commitment to religious freedom, especially on issues of life, is stellar.
The day the broadcast aired, WORLD magazine online ran a chilling story about a Swedish midwife who cannot find employment because she won’t perform abortions.
Ellinor Grimmark took her case to court. And lost. Twice. The opinion of clinics and courts in Sweden seems to be: If you don’t want to kill babies, you have to find another job.
Could such an outrage happen here? Of course it could—it already has. Washington State requires pharmacists to dispense abortifacients. That law was appealed to the Supreme Court, but the Court refused to review it.
Now I’m guessing a Supreme Court with Judge Gorsuch would review it, and hopefully overturn such blatant violations of religious freedom. As a circuit judge, he ruled favorably for Hobby Lobby and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Defend religious freedom. Pray for Judge Gorsuch. Call your Senators and urge his confirmation.
