Just when we’re tempted to be jaded about the movie and music industries, something like this comes along and makes you hope the MTV and Grammy crowds are paying attention.
Fred Stobaugh recently lost his wife after 75 years together. After he saw a small music studio’s contest calling for original songs, Fred — who is not a musician or songwriter — sat down and penned a tribute to his wife, called “Oh Sweet Lorraine.”
The music producers got Fred’s song with a letter describing the story behind it, and decided to professionally record it for him. “That’s wonderful” was all Fred could say through tears when he heard it. You can buy it now on iTunes and Amazon, and the studio produced a short film for YouTube telling Fred’s story and offering a sneak peak at the song.
The beauty of life-long married love radiates from Fred and his lyrics. Thanks for sharing it with us, Fred.
Come to ThePointRadio.org, and I’ll link you to the film and the song’s iTunes page. I’m John Stonestreet..
