Last week I told you about the new documentary 3801 Lancaster which tells the horrible story of Kermit Gosnell’s west Philadelphia abortion clinic.

Someone on Twitter was offended that I suggested Gosnell’s horror was a direct result of legalized abortion. I didn’t say it, I said. The investigators noted that the push for no restrictions on abortion prevented oversight of clinics. This allowed Gosnell to over-sedate and abuse women and to snip the spinal cords of born-alive infants.

But back-alley abortions were a leading cause of death among women before Roe, he replied. Not true, I countered. And showed him that those stats were fabricated.

But we should accept Roe as settled law, he said. I’m glad we didn’t do that with slavery, I replied.

And, finally he wrote this: "It's immoral to continue debate on abortion while real human beings suffer in ways we can change." To which I replied with a sad sigh, are any human beings not real? For, I’m John Stonestreet.
