During last year’s election, the President’s campaign ran an ad in which Lena Dunham, of the HBO series “Girls,” equates voting for Barack Obama with losing your virginity. It was somewhere between creepy and offensive. It kind of fell into that “On what planet could an ad possibly be more inappropriate” category.
Well, a new ad produced by the Center for Reproductive Rights “to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade” is even worse. In it, a male actor in a low, seductive sexual voice refers to abortion on demand as “Baby,” and says Happy Anniversary before making sexually suggestive innuendos. My friend Eric Metaxas described him as “a smooth-talking racial stereotype who celebrates his freedom to use women at zero cost to himself.” That’s worth celebrating? What happened to abortion being “a tragic choice?”
I hope you’ll watch and share the ad, so people can see abortion for what it really is. For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
