Last week’s cover of TIME magazine proclaimed, “40 years ago, abortion rights activists won an epic victory with Roe v. Wade. They’ve been losing ever since.” The article points to the growing state-passed restrictions, divisions in the ranks of pro-abortion organizations, fewer abortionists, and a more sophisticated pro-life strategy as evidence. I found it telling that those who want abortion “safe, legal and rare” think of restrictions that reduce the number of abortions as “defeats.”

But before our pro-life celebration starts, Russell Moore writing on his blog reminds us that abortion-rights are still deeply ingrained in the cultureto the point that while the majority of Americans personally don’t like abortion, they still want it legal. And a younger generation more personally opposed to it than their parents, are also more willing to drive their friends to the abortion clinic so as not to impose their morality. So, there’s still lots of work to be done. For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
