I’m so tired of hearing this ridiculous argument. For the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with the Point.
In a recent New York Times column, Thomas Friedman resurrected a tired old line. He wrote, “I will not let that label (pro-life) apply to people for whom sanctity of life begins at conception and ends at birth.” Even worse, this argument gets repeated by so-called evangelicals tired of defending the unborn.
But, who on earth are they referring to? As Joe Loconte, of the King’s College replied on the Huffington Post, “In liberalism's radically narrowed experience…there is no appreciation for the crisis pregnancy centers, clinics, churches and faith-based charities that are helping thousands of needy women and children every day in this country. There is no recognition of the culture of adoption—that is rescuing countless children from lives of desperation and rejection.”
Look, it’s just not true that pro-lifers don’t care for kids and moms. It is true that abortion is still our nation’s greatest evil. Read Joe Loconte’s terrific response at thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
